CLACHNACUDDIN manager Jordan MacDonald says his team are determined not to be the sideshow against title chasing Buckie Thistle on the final day of the season.

A huge away support is predicted to arrive at Grant Street Park as Buckie Thistle look for victory to keep their slim hopes of becoming Highland League champions alive.

However, whatever the result tomorrow, Buckie will require Fraserburgh to lose to Forres Mechanics and win by two goals to be crowned champions.

Buckie required a 94th minute equaliser against Wick Academy on Wednesday to earn a 1–1 draw at Victoria Park to keep their challenge alive.

But Clachnacuddin are also looking for victory to finish in the top half of the table for the first time since 2013.

They moved to ninth in the table after coming from 3–1 behind to draw 3–3 with Forres Mechanics on Wednesday.

Macdonald knows all the attention at Grant Street Park tomorrow will be on Buckie Thistle, but they are determined to finish their campaign on a high.

“It is still alive for Buckie Thistle and the undefeated run they have been on is incredible,” he said.

“But I sometimes think Fraserburgh get forgotten about as they have been able to match that.

“We know what we are going to be up against on Saturday, but they will know they will be in for a game here, because if we play like we did in the second half against Forres, we can give anyone a game.

“Play like we did in the first half and Buckie will blow us away.

“Hopefully the second half Clachnacuddin will turn up on Saturday.

“We are not thinking about the crowd that will come through on Saturday, we are thinking about ourselves, we know our threats.

“It will be a tough afternoon, but we will give them a tough afternoon.”

Depending on results tomorrow, Clachnacuddin could finish the season anywhere between eighth and 13th.

But Macdonald says whatever the final position, he is pleased with the performances overall.

“I wanted the players to take chances and they have done that. We didn’t set targets at the start of the season and there is a chance for eighth.”
