Clachnacuddin will be hoping to show they have learned lessons from their last meeting with Rothes ahead of the return match tomorrow, according to Jordan Macdonald.

Away from home earlier in the season, wastefulness in front of goal cost the Lilywhites dearly as they lost 4–1.

Now, with Rothes making the journey to Grant Street Park tomorrow afternoon, manager Macdonald knows that they cannot afford to miss those chances if they want to get a result.

“It’s another game we’re going into believing that we can win,” he stressed.

“When we played them earlier in the season, 4–1 didn’t reflect the game to be perfectly honest.

“They were 2–0 up, we deservedly got one back and then for the majority of the second half it was all us without putting the ball in the back of the net.

“Sometimes you just get caught.

“You lose a bit of concentration with not long to go, and they scored two late on. The performance down there was pleasing, we just need to be more ruthless in front of goal.

“I’m not going to lie, they’ve got good players all over the pitch, but we’ve also got good players that can hurt them.

“We’ll be looking to try and get back to winning ways on Saturday.”

Clachnacuddin have taken some sore results over the last few weeks.

Most recently, a 6–0 defeat appeared to be another one, but Macdonald was happy with the way Clach tried to go about the match.

If ever they needed a message that clinical finishing made the difference between teams at the top of the table and in the middle, the trip to Dudgeon Park served as exactly that.

Macdonald, though, says Clach have been trying to improve on that front, saying: “We’ve had a few like that this season where we’ve created chances and not taken them.

“When you play your bigger teams like Rothes and Brora, when they get chances they’re ruthless and they punish you.

“It was just something that we’ve got to get better at as a group, and it’s something that we are working on.

“That’s the reason they’re at the top. When these teams get chances, they take them, they can put you out of the game.

“That’s what happened towards the end when we played them down there.”
