A 2–1 win at Grant Street Park last week over Keith was the third consecutive home victory for the Lilywhites – something manager Jordan Macdonald believes is a first in his time in charge.

Making it four will be a tough ask, though, as it is defending Highland League champions Fraserburgh who visit Inverness tomorrow afternoon.

Earlier in the season the Broch recorded a 5–0 win over Clach, but with home form as good as it has ever been Macdonald believes his side have every chance of getting a result.

“We’re at home, and we know how tough it will be, but we’re looking to go and win,” he explained.

“We all want to test ourselves against the bigger and better teams, and Fraserburgh are the reigning champions.

“We know how hard we’ll have to work, and then hopefully we can take the chances that do come our way. We’ll need to match Fraserburgh’s work rate to begin with.

“If we do that we’ll, have a chance of getting something out of the game.

“If they smell blood, they go for you. They did that earlier in the season – we played really well for about 50 minutes, then we gave away a cheap goal and it ended up being five. We can’t let that happen again.”

Donald Morrison is due to be monitored after being forced off against Keith with a shoulder injury, but otherwise Aly Riddle is the only injury absence this weekend.

That could lead to a consistent selection for Macdonald, with many of the same options available to him to take on Fraserburgh.

One thing that has not regularly matched up, though, has been performances and results. Macdonald believes Clach have been far better than results have sometimes shown, which can lead to some frustration.

“We’re inconsistent, and that’s what has cost us this season,” he added.

“More than anything else it’s the inconsistency we’ve shown – when we’re good, we’re really good, but when we have a bad day it’s really bad.

“We don’t seem to have that middle ground. Keith last week is probably one of the few examples where we’ve not been at our best, but kept ourselves in the game and won.”
