Clachnacuddin have moved quickly after the end of their Highland League season to begin bolstering their squad for 2024/25.

The Lilywhites rounded off the 2023/24 campaign on a high note this afternoon, beating Lossiemouth 2-0 at home.

Ross County loanee George Robesten was the man to score both of the goals at Grant Street Park, finding the net twice inside half an hour to give Clach fans something to celebrate.

The good news has not ended there, though, with Clach confirming their first piece of summer business as manager Conor Gethins has snapped up Allan Macphee ahead of next season.

A product of the youth system at Clach, Macphee moved on to Forres Mechanics as a teenager, but did briefly return to the Highland capital on loan in the ill-fated 2020/21 season.

He would then go on to spend the last two seasons in the North Caledonian League with Loch Ness, where he won the league title last year.

Now 26, attacker Macphee should be entering the prime of his career and says he is delighted to return to the Highland League with his first senior club.

"I am delighted to be back involved with the club that gave me my Highland League debut 10 years ago,” Macphee commented.

“After playing through the youth academy, it’s special coming back permanently this time and hopefully I can help the club kick on next season.

“It’s been good seeing the difference that Conor and Robbie (Duncanson) have made since coming in and this is one of the main reasons that I have signed along with their ambitions for the club.

“Clach have some great players and a fantastic fan base so very excited to be back in the Highland League and get going."

Gethins added: "Allan is a player that I identified straight away. He is a goal scorer, fit, very fast and a winner and it was time I challenged him to challenge himself back in the Highland League again.

“He has scored many goals for Loch Ness, winning trophies and we wanted to bring that winning mentality to the club.

“At 26 he has lots of experience under his belt. We look forward to helping him develop more and look forward to seeing what he can bring to Clach.”
