Clachnacuddin complete double swoop from Highland League rivals Strathspey Thistle as Jack Davison and Jack Mackay make move to Grant Street Park

Clachnacuddin have completed a double swoop as Conor Gethins continues to reshape his squad ahead of the 2024/25 Highland League season.
The Lilywhites had already brought in Allan Macphee from North Caledonian League outfit Loch Ness, and have moved to bring in another player who shone on the same stage as part of a double swoop from one of their Highland League rivals.
Jack Davison was the first to put pen-to-paper, returning to Grant Street Park from Strathspey Thistle on a two-year deal.
Davison had come through the youth ranks at Clach before moving to Speyside, where he scored 10 of the Jags’ 34 goals in the league last season.
Gethins commented: "Jack is a former Clach youth team player who decided to go to pastures new to develop himself further, and he has certainly done that.
“Strathspey scored 34 goals last season and Jack got 10 of these which from midfield is an incredible return.
“We feel that a midfielder who scores goals is very hard to come by and we hope he can continue to produce this great form going into next season and at such a young age he has lots to learn and we look forward to developing these assets he has further."
As well as Davison, the Lilywhites have brought in Jack Mackay, also on a two-year deal.
Mackay had previously captained North Caley champions Invergordon, who won a treble in the 2023/24 campaign.
Gethins had come across the midfielder while playing amateur football last summer, and is delighted to have brought Mackay to the Highland capital.
"Jack is a player that I saw last season playing for Maryburgh when I was playing for Avoch,” Gethins explained.
“He is a player who I found on that day a tough opponent and one that caught my eye.
“With an incredible desire for fitness and a player who will look to take the ball anywhere on the park, Jack is a player I identified as one that could be a big asset to Clach."
