IAIN Polworth is looking to add the ingredients to his Clach squad over the close season to create a recipe for success next campaign in the Highland League.

The Lilywhites rounded off a delicious second half of their season with a 4-1 victory at Fort William last Friday and now that business on the pitch is complete, boss Polworth is looking forward to tucking into plans for 2014-15.

Having already agreed to play friendlies against Caley Thistle, Ross County and Elgin City (dates to be confirmed), Polworth’s attentions have turned to recruitment – and he is looking for players who have certain characteristics that can give his squad a boost.

He said: "We need to strengthen the forward line and add a few bits and pieces.

"We need specific ingredients, we could add a bit more pace going forward, add a bit of strength in midfield.

"We’ll have a look over the next few weeks and see what we can do."

Last week, Polworth secured goalkeeper John Campbell, centre-half David McGurk and midfielder Martin Laing on one-year deals, meaning the only current player not signed up for next season is Mark Dougall.

The Merkinchers finished their season in style against an improving Fort William side – despite missing key men including top scorer Paul Brindle, Martin Callum, Neil MacDonald and Jamie Doran.
