INVERNESS City are looking to get back to winning ways after suffering back-to-back defeats when they host Banks o’Dee in the North Junior Superleague at Lister Park at the Bught on Saturday.

An under-strength City have been knocked out of the Domino’s Pizza North Regional Cup and the Grill Cup in the space of four days and the Highland capital side are keen to register their first win in the Superleague against top class opposition

However, City player/manager Jordan MacDonald will still be missing as many as 10 players for Saturday’s match against the crack Aberdeen outfit.

He said: "We are looking forward to our first Superleague game in Inverness. Banks o’Dee will be one of the favourites to win the league, so we are expecting a tough match."

City hope to have Euan Urquhart available again, while long-term absentee Gary Miller, who has been out of action for a year, could also make a welcome return.

Looking back on last Saturday’s 2-1 loss to East End in Aberdeen in the Grill Cup, he said: "We were left chasing the game because we needed a victory to win the group. But they scored with the last kick of the ball.

"Although we had so many players missing we played very well – but we are not getting the breaks at the moment."

After a goalless first half, East End took the lead in the 53rd minute when Jordan Reid was first to react after a shot cannoned off the City crossbar.

However, City continued to plug away and got back on level terms seven minutes from the end when Eddie Fuller grabbed an equaliser after Kelvin MacKenzie twice forced the East End goalkeeper into making saves.

City needed a win to progress and they pushed hard for a winner. But it was the home side that got the decisive goal in the final minute when Reid popped up again to score with a stunning drive.
