Champions tested at Glenurquhart

Glenurquhart put in a brave performance before going down 3–0 to Newtonmore in last week’s pre-season friendly.

Goals from Glen MacKintosh, Iain Robinson and Michael Russell earned the Premiership and Camanachd Cup champions victory.

Kingussie retained the Bill MacPherson Salver at Castle Leod with a penalty shoot-out securing victory over Caberfeidh. At the end of 90 minutes the teams were level at 2–2.

Ruaraidh Anderson gave Kings the lead with Cabers’ new signing from Beauly Robbie Brindle marking his debut with the equaliser.

Craig Morrison gave the home side a 2–1 interval lead with Keiran MacPherson’s goal levelling the score.

Kingussie went on to win the trophy 3–2 from the penalty spot.
