Inverness Caledonian Thistle Development began their defence of the Highlands and Islands League with victory in Kirkwall.

Caley Thistle opened the scoring through Simone Coles with a well-taken strike.

But Orkney came back strong and forced a good save from Inverness goalkeeper Zoe Morrison.

However, she was unable to stop the Orcadians finding an equaliser, with Katie Rafferty scoring from the penalty spot to make it 1–1 at the break.

Caley Thistle stormed back in the second half and regained the lead through Lauren Doherty.

Coles and Doherty both scored a second goal to record the 4–1 win.
