Defending champions get off the mark against Caberfeidh

Newtonmore bounced back after their opening day loss to Kilmallie with a 3–0 win over Caberfeidh at Castle Leod.

Jamie Robinson opened the scoring after just two minutes with David MacLean extending Newtonmore’s lead in the 35th minute.

Fraser MacKintosh added a third just after the break to wrap up the points for the champions.

Lovat had to satisfy themselves with a point against Oban Camanachd at Mossfield Park but stay top of the Premiership. Daniel MacVicar gave the home team a 12th minute advantage which was cancelled out on the half hour by Greg Matheson.

Daniel MacCuish edged Oban in front again in the 63rd minute however their lead was short lived with Marc MacLachlan equalising within a minute.

Kingussie looked to be on course for both points at Spean Bridge, however Ben Delaney’s 88th minute equaliser earned Lochaber a valuable point after a 1–1 draw in what was in the first match of the season for both teams. Kings had taken an early lead through Roddy Young.
