The Dundee side are a bit of an unknown quantity as they play in BT Caledonia League Division Two Midlands and although they racked up huge wins over second XV opposition, they had to battle hard for a win over Morgan Academy FP.

Dave Carson is back in charge after a brief holiday and he will not focus on the hosts’ form but instead concentrate on having his squad maintain their own momentum.

Prop Stuart Watson came through last Saturday’s match okay which was welcome and sees the pack remain unchanged. The only enforced change is full-back Morris Dillon being unavailable but coming back in is winger Craig Findlater.

Carson and his coaching staff will be confident that Highland will be too hot to handle, although there will be a lot of stress placed on maintaining better discipline and reducing the high penalty count conceded last week.

The squad are keen to get a cup run going as it increases the rewards up for grabs and know what is at stake, being Bowl winners last year.

Highland’s second XV are frustrated with the lack of a league fixture and to keep up the fine start to the season they are hoping to line up a friendly, possibly with Ross Sutherland.

The under-18s are buoyed up by their win over Boroughmuir and confidence is high for a return to Edinburgh, this time to play Currie in the President’s Conference. Injuries are a concern but the squad is large enough to cover any enforced changes.

On Sunday the under-16s and under-15s make the trip to Currie while the under-14s and under-13s are at home at Canal Park. The under-16s are the in-form side at the moment and are currently on a run of three wins from three and are very confident of keeping this run going.

The Minis and Micros have their usual 11am Sunday morning training sessions.
