The Cannich teenager, who trains at the Highland Martial Arts Centre (HMAC) in Inverness as well as Lincoln Fight Factory, defeated Cameron Longbottom to take the title in the 60kg division.

Peter-Lee (17) says his hard work and dedication going into the fight paid off in what he says was the greatest night of his life so far.

“The fight went the distance, but I managed to drop him in the fifth, so I always felt that I had him,” he recalled.

“The fight consisted of five rounds, and to be fair to him I lost the first round.

“But after that I always felt that I was in complete control, and from the second round onwards, I never felt that I was behind.

“In the first round, I wanted him to show what he had for me and figure out what my tools could do to counteract his tools.

“I had a game plan going into the bout and it turns out it proved to be the right one.

“This is the pinnacle of my career so far, but I can guarantee there is more to come from me.”

Peter-Lee says the victory has opened up new opportunities, including possibly making the switch to mixed martial arts.

“I am weighing up going into MMA and compete for titles in a new sport or I can stick with kickboxing and go and win further titles.

“My coach says if I stick with kickboxing, I could compete for a European title next year, so there are things I need to consider.”
