TERRY Butcher wants to adopt the Kilmarnock blueprint to guide his Inverness side to their first ever top six finish.

The Caley Thistle manager was impressed by Killie's consistency throughout the previous SPL campaign and wants the Highlanders to do the same this season.

"The expectation level from us is quite high because we feel that this squad is excellent and who knows what they can do?" Butcher said.

"We have high hopes of them producing good performances, good football and a high points total at the end.

"We want to be like Kilmarnock were last season when they had a fantastic run and it’s up to us to follow in their footsteps.

"They produced some wonderful football and we want to do the same.

"We don’t have any superstars in the side, we just have very good players and we want to be a very good team.

"To do that will take a bit of time and a lot of effort but these boys are prepared to put that in and we can’t wait for every game."
