Caley Thistle have secured a fourth summer signing with the arrival of defender Zak Delaney.

The 20-year-old Irishman has penned a two-year deal with the Championship club, subject to international clearance.

Delaney started his career with West Bromwich Albion, rising through the Hawthorns’ youth academy set-up, starring for the under 18s and 23s, before spending most of last season on loan at National League South side Bath City, with 29 appearances.

He has been with Billy Dodds’ squad on trial through most of pre-season and brings with him a versatility, having played in the past at both left back and centre back.

Delaney, who has represented Ireland at Under 18s level, also featured as a trialist in Caley Thistle's 10-0 friendly victory over Clach and Saturday's1-0 pre-season win over Brora Rangers in Sutherland.

He joins ex-Wycombe centre half Max Ram, ex-Fylde midfielder Nathan Shaw and former Alloa and Hamilton striker Steven Boyd in bolstering Dodds’ ranks.
