Inverness Caledonian Thistle have gone eight games without a win in the Championship as they ended 2022 on a low note with defeat at Partick Thistle in one of their heaviest defeats of the season.

Brian Graham and Kyle Turner both scored in the first half with Cole Mckinnon and Aaron Muirhead finding the net in the second half as Partick were 4-0 up before the hour mark.

Aaron Doran pulled one back for Inverness, but Danny Mullen restored Partick Thistle's four goal lead.

Wallace Duffy was then sent off with 10 minutes remaining after denying a goalscoring opportunity in a dismal night for Inverness.

Inverness have not won a match in the league since their 1-0 win over Cove Rangers in Aberdeen on October 15.

Inverness trio Cameron Harper, Danny Devine and Nathan Shaw were all out of the squad as they brought the injury list up to nine.

But Zak Delaney, Billy Mckay and Sean Welsh were all back in the starting line-up.

Partick dominated the first half and broke the deadlock after 15 minutes when Steven Lawless sent in a ball from the left wing to find Graham unchallenged in the six-yard box to tap home.

Partick doubled their advantage with five minutes left in the first half when Harry Milne's cross was unchallenged as Kyle Turner tapped home again in the six yard box.

The hosts made it 3-0 in the 55th minute when Graham teed up McKinnon in the box and fired a low range effort from 12 yards past Mackay.

Muirhead made it 4-0 just before the hour mark when he won a free header to nod home a corner kick on the edge of the six yard box.

Doran pulled one back for Inverness with 15 minutes remaining when he fired home a Daniel Mackay cross from the right wing from 12 yards out.

But Mullen restored Partick's four goal advantage 60 seconds later when he connected with a cross in the box and fired home from 10 yards.

Inverness were then reduced to 10 men soon after when Wallace Duffy was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity.

It is Caley Thistle's joint worst defeat of the season after losing 4-0 to Greenock Morton on October 28.
