CALEY Thistle's Betfred Cup second round tie at League One Alloa Athletic has been set for next Tuesday night (7.30pm).

The Wasps, who killed off holders Ross County's chances in the competition formerly known at the League Cup eight days ago, will be aiming for a Highland double against Richie Foran's group winners, who thrashed Arbroath 7-0 at the weekend.

Details of the Betfred Cup ties have now been confirmed, with Celtic v Motherwell live on BT Sport next Wednesday August 10, kick-off 7.45pm.

Next Tuesday's games: Alloa Athletic v Inverness Caledonian Thistle, kick-off 7.30pm, Dundee United v Partick Thistle, kick-off 7.45pm, Hamilton Academical v Morton, kick-off 7.45pm, Hibernian v Queen of the South, kick-off 7.45pm, Rangers v Peterhead, kick-off 7.45pm.

Next Wednesday's matches: Ayr United v Aberdeen, kick-off 7.45pm, Celtic v Motherwell, kick-off 7.45pm (Live on BT Sport) and St Johnstone v Heart of Midlothian, kick-off 7.45pm.

Unlike the first round's group games, if matches end in a draw after 90 minutes then half an hour of extra-time will be played before a penalty shoot-out is used to settle the outcome.
