CALEY Thistle have completed their second summer signing with the addition of Irish midfield Jake Mulraney.

The 20-year-old joins on a two-year-deal following the expiration of his contract with English Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

Mulraney did not play a senior contest for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side, instead spending time out on loan to Dagenham and Redbridge and Stevenage.

He is a Republic of Ireland youth international and knows Caley Thistle midfielder Aaron Doran. He also spent time in the academy of Nottingham Forest.

Following his recruitment of English striker Scott Boden earlier in the month, new manager Richie Foran spoke of his delight at securing Mulraney's signature.

“He brings something different to the squad, he has plenty of pace and will prove a real handful for any defence.,” he said. “He’s a really direct player, who I’m sure will quickly become a fan’s favourite

“He had offers from elsewhere, so it’s especially pleasing that he chose to join us here in Inverness.”

Mulraney added: “I’m very happy to sign and can’t wait to get going. I already know Aaron Doran and everyone else I’ve met so far has been great. “

Foran still hopes to add to his squad before the start of pre-season in 10 days time, with the first scheduled pre-season game against Fraserburgh taking place on July 2.

The club confirmed on Thursday that Jordan Roberts and Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo would not be remaining at the club, finally deciding not to exercise the year options they had on the pair's contract. Ryan Williams was also released and Danny Devine turned down an extension to join Partick Thistle.
