Inverness move to seventh in the table after the goalless draw at the Caledonian Stadium but have now only won once in the last 13 games.

Raith Rovers made the brighter start to the match when Regan Hendry’s cross almost found Gozie Ugwu, but he couldn’t connect as Brad McKay cleared the ball for a corner.

Daniel Mackay thought he had given Caley Thistle the lead on the half hour mark when his shot beat Jamie Macdonald. But his low drive was cleared off the line by Kieran Macdonald.

Roddy MacGregor’s follow up was blocked and Nikolay Todorov’s shot wide of the right post.

Caley Thistle made the better start to the second half and were denied the lead on the hour mark by the woodwork.

David Carson’s cross found Sean Welsh in the box but his header hit the right post.

Minutes later Shane Sutherland beat the offside trap as he ran on to a ball from Scott Allardice and was one on one with the goalkeeper but MacDonald saved well.

Raith Rovers came close to winning the game in the final minutes when Dylan Tait forced a fine safe by Mark Ridgers.
