LEE Cox has been given the green light to increase his rehab as he aims to recover from a groin injury.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has missed all of Caley Thistle's league campaign so far, was set for an extended spell on the sidelines but is now showing positive signs.

Cox, a first-team regular following his arrival from Leicester City two years ago, saw a specialist yesterday who was pleased with the progress but attached no timeframe for a possible return.

"It is coming on well and he will step up his rehab work," explained Inverness manager Terry Bucther.

"If he steps it up a bit and doesn’t get any negative reaction then we can increase again afterwards.

"It’s nice and positive for Lee because he was feeling a bit down and a bit depressed as everyone else was moving on and going forward and playing games and he’s quite a way away from getting anywhere near that.

"But we are delighted there has been no set back which gives Lee a bit of a boost and he has been a tremendous player for us and wants to get back playing as soon as possible."
