WATFORD defender Tom Aldred is set to become Caley Thistle's third summer signing after the two clubs agreed in principle to a six-month loan deal for the player.

The paperwork for the 20-year-old centre half has yet to be completed, but he is expected to join Inverness for pre-season training, which starts next week.

Aldred, who has represented Scotland under-19s, spent part of last season on loan at Stockport County, but Watford are keen to send him out on a short-term deal again in order to gain first-team experience.

Caley Thistle have already signing midfielder Greg Tansey and forward Gregory Tade, while more new arrivals are expected in the near future.
