Saturday's 1–0 defeat to Greenock Morton was described by Dodds as their poorest performance of the campaign.

The defeat leaves Inverness in third place, six points off leaders Arbroath who have a game in hand.

Dodds says after speaking to the squad after the defeat, the players know what is required when they take to the Caledonian Stadium tonight.

Speaking about how he dealt with the players after a performance like Saturday, he said: "You have to be selective because there are a few boys who can take it on the chin, while others will sink a little if you snap too much.

"But, as a whole, I have a good group and they have had a wee think and, on Monday, they were going again at training. We got the message across of what's required.

"They were flying and they now have to take that into Wednesday night. The mindsets were brilliant.

"They have to go and show me now.

He added: "Saturday was probably our poorest performance - that was the most disappointing thing. It was such a big chance again to close the gap.

"It wasn't a great performance and the boys know that. They will take it on the chin. They aim to take exactly what they have been showing me on the training ground into Wednesday's game."

Dodds said Saturday's performance was morale sapping, but says there is no time for him or the team to feel sorry for themselves.

"I was down at the weekend, but you have to pick yourself up. We have got that in this squad. No chance will we feel sorry for ourselves.

"We are still in there pitching. If you let it get to you and it's all doom and gloom then results won't improve.

"You have to keep the mood up. I looked to see how they would handle the training sessions this week and they have been brilliant. They're focused. "
