Caley Thistle Women are hoping to see goalkeeper Jennifer Horrocks sign off with a win to launch a successful League Cup campaign.

The Inverness goalkeeper will be playing her last game for the club before travelling away from the area for work this Sunday against Falkirk at Millburn Academy in the Championship and League One Cup.

ICT are the higher-tier side, with Falkirk currently sitting in mid-table in League One, but Mason is taking nothing for granted against a team who knocked them out of the same competition a few years ago.

It will, however, be a swansong for the time being for Horrocks, and the Caley Jags have as yet been unsuccessful in their search for a replacement goalkeeper.

That could be a big blow with Inverness desperate to get their hands on silverware this season, with manager Karen Mason saying: “We’re training other players up at the moment just in case they need to go in, but it’s not surprising we’ve had no joy.

“The hope is that Jen can sign off with a clean sheet and a win, and that by the time she’s back we’ll be in the quarter finals.

“This is obviously the first step of many to get to that stage, so whoever we get drawn against we’ve got to prepare to go out and beat them and do everything we can.

“I don’t really know a great deal about Falkirk, so we’ll just have to prepare as we would for any Championship game and make sure that we try to get through to the next round.

“I don’t think we’ve ever been complacent because of how inconsistent we can be at times, and it won’t happen on Sunday because we want to have a good run in the cup and get to the final.”

Lauren Donald is back available after holidays, but Lorna Macrae will miss two to three weeks after picking up an ankle injury in the win over Dryburgh Athletic last time out and Tina Kelly is away.
