Inverness Caledonian Thistle are set to recall all five youngsters they have on loan as they battle the injury crisis in the squad that has nine first team players out of action.

Right winger Harry Hennem at Wick Academy, along with full backs Lewis Nicolson at Elgin City and Aly Riddle at Clachnacuddin, are all returning to Inverness in January.

In addition, attacking midfielder Robbie Thompson who is at Clachnacuddin along with forward Ethan Cairns at Forres Mechanics, who were meant to be on loan for the entire season, are returning to Caley Thistle with the loan deals cut short.

Head coach Billy Dodds said yesterday all loan players are returning to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

He is desperate to add depth to the squad due to the unprecedented number of men out injured.

Dodds confirmed: “They will be coming back.

“They have to and give us all options, i’m not saying they will all play or it is the right thing for their development.

“But it is the right thing for the club, they will all be coming back.”

Inverness return to action on Monday when they take on Cove Rangers at the Caledonian Stadium with a 3pm kick-off.

Wallace Duffy is suspended after being sent off at Partick, but Danny Devine could return to the squad.

Inverness have not won in the Championship since they defeated Cove Rangers 1-0 in Aberdeen on October 15.

Since then, they have gone eight games without a victory in the league, with only a Scottish Cup third round 3-2 victory over Stirling Albion on November 26 since.

Dodds says his players are still hurting after their humiliating 5-1 defeat to Partick last Friday.

“I was hurt, at Christmas I should be concentrating on my family and i’m concentrating on what had just gone on.

“I drove up the road back to Inverness and all I thought about was the game.

“If they look at themselves they know they let themselves down.

“Partick are capable of beating us.

“But the manner which they beat us, if you don’t get a response there is something wrong with you as a professional footballer.”
