Caley Thistle head coach Billy Dodds says he is gutted for midfielder Roddy MacGregor after the 21-year-old was forced off the pitch against Queen’s Park through injury.

The youngster spent five months on the sidelines earlier this season with an ankle injury, initially sustained against Cove Rangers in October.

Coming off the bench in the Scottish Cup quarter final against Kilmarnock this month, then, was a nice moment for MacGregor (pictured) as he also made his 100th ICT appearance.

However, around 10 minutes after coming on last weekend at Ochilview he was forced off once again with what looks like a similar issue.

“I’m gutted for him,” Dodds explained.

“Our first thoughts are it’s a very similar one to what he had, and he was out for a long time. I hope it’s not that and he’s just turned his ankle.

“The boy clipped him from the back, which isn’t what he needed when he’s just back.”
