But there are injury concerns after Roddy MacGregor had to be taken off the pitch injured midway through the first half.

Scott Allardice also had to be taken off at half time when he was replaced by Lewis Hyde.

The only goal of the game came midway through the first half when MacGregor’s ball from half way found Billy Mckay in the box.

He set up an on rushing Boyd who from six yards out fired a low drive past Kyle Gourlay into the net.

Cove Rangers were reduced to 10 minutes in injury time when Leighton McIntosh was sent off after appearing to headbutt Zak Delaney.

Caley Thistle could top of the league on Tuesday night if they avoid defeat against Hamilton Academical at the Caledonian League in what will be the nights only game.
