Boxers aim to be knockouts at Lonsdale

Six Highland boxers are hoping to pack a punch when they compete at a prestigious tournament in Cumbria.

Highland Boxing Academy are sending a strong squad to the Lord Lonsdale Box Cup in Penrith which starts today.

Fighters from all over the world will be competing at the tournament which takes place over the course of three days.

Head coach Liam Foy says it is one of the top tournaments his athletes compete in and says his athletes can mix it with the best.

"It will be a great international experience and we are really looking forward to it.

"We have boxers competing in a number of different categories, we have seniors, youths, school and juniors.

"They all have a great chance of achieving success in their respective categories."
