HIGHLAND have spent the week working hard at training in a bid to return to winning ways tomorrow when Mackie Academy FP visit Canal Park.

Late call-offs and a difficult journey to Tillicoultry were both contributing factors in last weekend’s 28-18 Caledonia Regional League Division One defeat at Hillfoots.

Director of rugby Hugh Mackintosh, however, is confident his players can bounce back quickly and is targeting a bonus point win.

The pack will have one change with Gareth High almost certain to miss out. He is expected to be replaced by Euan Watson.

In the back line, Andy Hill is definitely sidelined with Tam Magowan set to take his place at full back. Dave Ramsay sustained a knock last weekend, but is hopeful of being fit, while the club are still hoping to secure the services of Craig Findlater.

After a mixed start to the new season, the Greens know a win is required if they hope to be challenging at the top end of the league.

Highland’s under-18s are also in action tomorrow as they travel to play Caithness looking to maintain their unbeaten league record, while on Sunday the under-15s make the journey to Caithness as well Moray and the under-16s are in Moray. Joining them on the road will be the under-13 and under-14s who both play Aberdeen Grammar.

The club’s mini and micros sections, however, will have their usual Sunday coaching session at Canal Park.
