The next race meeting at Littleferry will take place on Sunday 25th September.

The ICC gearbox category is always well contested, although there was disappointment for Roddy, from Tore, who crashed out of the race.

Inverness driver Paulius Peveraitis ended the race down in 14th, but did have the consolation of being named as the top novice in this class.

Rory MacLennan, of Tore, managed an eighth place finish in the junior rotax section, one place clear of Jake Anderson (Fortrose).

Abbie Munro (Bonar Bridge) was seventh, James Thompson (Culbokie) eighth, Tore’s Ben Patience 10th, Owen Fraser, of Maryburgh 11th, Callum Morrison (Inverness) 12th, while 13th and 14th place went to sister and brother Hannah and Andrew Emerson, from Muir of Ord.

In the honda cadet class, Michael MacPherson (Tore) was second in two of the four heats and started the final from second on the grid. He eventually finished the race in fifth place.

MacLennan, of Tore, was sixth, Aiden MacLean (Dingwall) 10th, while Alex MacKay (Inverness) came home in 13th place.

Black not only took the fastest lap of the race, he also claimed the Scottish A Plate Kart Championship Trophy, with Fraserburgh’s Jack Simpson second and Cameron McClaughlan (Glasgow) in third place.

He took advantage of the clear track in front of him in the final and was never headed, finishing first overall, 6.83 seconds ahead of the rest of the drivers.

Despite finishing second in the fourth race, Black had done more than enough to secure pole position for the final.

Black showed up well in practice and carried this into the first three heats, crossing the line first on each occasion.

Drivers from throughout the country were greeted by dry weather for the event with a practice session, followed by four heats, and a final.

Black, of Kirkhill, Beauly, was in top form at North of Scotland Kart Club’s Littleferry race circuit, Golspie.

A DOMINANT performance from Liam Black was enough to see the youngster crowned mini max champion at the latest round of the Scottish Kart Championships.
