Avoiding defeat against Skye at Braeview tomorrow will guarantee Beauly a place in the top flight of shinty next season.

There is also added importance to tomorrow’s clash as both teams are level on points at the top of the table in the National Division with two games remaining.

But Beauly are on top thanks to a superior goal difference.

The league can’t be decided tomorrow, but victory for Beauly would put them in a commanding position for the title.

However, defeat could mean a nervous wait in the final game of the season where they would have to avoid losing to Inveraray, who could still catch the top two, or miss out on promotion altogether.

Co-manager Gregor MacCormick says the importance of tomorrow’s clash at Braeview is not being underestimated by his team.

They are determined to get promotion in the bank and put their title fate in their own hands on the final day of the season.

“It’s a big game for us and is a culmination of the entire year into this weekend,” said MacCormick.

“It couldn’t be closer, with both teams having the same number of wins, draws and defeats.

“Skye have momentum behind them with a good few wins and it it will be a tough game.

“But we have a full squad available and looking forward to getting the job done.

“We have never been in the Premiership before.

“It was a big thing for us at the start of the season to try and aim for that.

“We are glad at this stage of the season we are still in the opportunity to be in the race for the title.

“The focus for us is getting a result on Saturday and that will put us in a great position for the title.

“It will leave us with one home game against Inveraray to get the league title over the line.”
