John Baird has permanently left Inverness Caledonian Thistle after he was announced as Forfar Athletic's first signing of the close season.

The 32 year old nomadic striker will link up with his former Montrose manager Jim Weir in the role of player/assistant manager.

Baird had signed for Caley Thistle last summer, scoring four goals in 31 appearances across all competitions.

But he was shipped out to Greenock Morton on an emergency loan in February, and has now signed a pre-contract agreement to move to Station Park when his ICT deal expires next month.
