Third place Highland face the Glasgow side at Canal Park hoping to stay at least 10 points behind league leaders Biggar before facing them next weekend in South Lanarkshire.

Highland kept their title hopes alive last weekend with a 29–22 bonus point victory at Stirling Wolves.

Number eight Baird (23) says it is imperative they keep that winning feeling going to set up their biggest game of the season next weekend.

“Biggar have stretched their lead to 10 points and we can only do what we can now,” he said.

“The game against Cartha is important so we can build the momentum going to Biggar.

“We need to build on the win at Stirling by beating Cartha and take a running start into Biggar as that will be our biggest test of the season.

“Having come up from National Two with them we know how good a side they are. But we are aiming for Biggar.”
