Bartlett (22) from Dingwall, who is nicknamed Bad Boy, says he faced the toughest test of his career against the Polish fighter who is a two time Scottish champion, as he was full of respect for his opponent after the bout.

However, Bartlett remained in full control of the fight, winning all six rounds to take a 60–54 victory and take his professional record to 6–0.

Bartlett says it was exactly the type of fight he wanted as he is looking to take his career to the next step and is aiming for a title shot soon.

“This was the first real test that I have had at welterweight level,” he said.

“I am pleased to take the win on points against a man who was a really hard opponent.

“He was a southpaw fighter which proved to be awkward at first.

“But once I got going, I was landing some heavy shots.

“It turned out to be a really good night and the fight will now lead me on to bigger fights in the future.

“Getting through a big fight such as that is what I want, I want bigger tests and pushing myself."

Bartlett says it was a great experience to fight in front of a home crowd who were cheering him on.

“I always want to put on a good show and sometimes against your opponent you just have to box clever like I did last weekend.

“But I was still able to put on a good show for the support in Inverness which was phenomenal on the night.”

Bartlett is now back in the gym and waiting to hear when he will compete in his next fight.

But he says that he wants to be competing for a title shot as soon as possible.

“I am now keeping my head down and training hard in the gym waiting for my next phone call.

“But in the next few fights I will be looking to win a title.”
