ATHLETICS: Inverness teenager is crowned Scottish under-17 800 metres champion

INVERNESS Harriers teenager Lois Macrae has become under-17 800 metres Scottish champion after claiming victory in Grangemouth.

The Millburn Academy pupil claim victory by over a second when she won gold in a time of 2.13:75 which also set a new under-15 and under-17 club records.

Jessica Inglis of Law & District AAC was second in 2:14.78 with Scarlett Wilson of Giffnock North AC third in 2:15.36

There was also medal success for Andrew Bowsher in the men’s hammer with a throw of 55.10m.

Rory Stainsby also claimed a silver medal in the under-17 hammer with a throw of 49.98 metres.

Leona Fernandes claimed two silver medals, one in Javelin with a personal best throw of 33.90m and in the hammer with a throw of 44.71metres.
