All football matches in Scotland are called off due to death of Queen Elizabeth II. Inverness Caley Thistle v Hamilton Academical, Ross County v Motherwell and all Highland League matches are postponed





All football matches in Scotland will be postponed this weekend as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II who died last night.

The Scottish Professional Football League have announced all matches scheduled to take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be rearranged for a later date.

As a result Inverness Caledonian Thistle's match with Hamilton Academical has been postponed.

Ross County's clash with Motherwell at the Global Energy Stadium has also been called off.

All Highland League matches scheduled to be played tomorrow have also been postponed.

The Scottish Women's Professional League have also announced all games scheduled for this weekend are cancelled.

Last night, a number of competitions announced they were cancelling all matches this weekend as a result of the Queen's death.

The North Caledonian League have announced all matches on Saturday and Wednesday have been postponed.

The North Region Junior Football Association have announced all of their first round matches in the North Regional Cup are off which includes Nairn St Ninian's match at Burghead Thistle.

Scottish Rugby have announced all club matches, including Highland's clash at Aberdeen Grammar in National One are off.

This morning, the Camanachd Association confirmed no shinty matches will be played this weekend.

It included the planned Sutherland Cup final between Lovat and Newtonmore.
