Aaron Doran has agreed a two-year deal to return to Inverness from Blackburn Rovers.

ATTACKING midfielder Aaron Doran last night (Wednesday) agreed a two-year contract with Caley Thistle.

The 20-year-old is joined by Northampton Town forward Billy McKay (22), who is to sign a one-year deal.

Doran spent six successful months on loan with Terry Butcher's team last term and the Inverness CT manager has been working hard to land the player, at least on another loan deal.

However, opportunities seemed limited for the Dubliner at Ewood Park and he spurned advances by Aberdeen, St Johnstone and Motherwell, as well as a few English clubs, to return to the Highlands.

He has joined his "new" team-mates at Bath University and could feature in tonight's (Thursday's) friendly match against League Two side Bristol Rovers at Twerton Park, Bath.

McKay is a former Northern Ireland under-21 striker and will provide extra competition for the attacking area of the squad. He has a thigh strain at the moment, so won't be involved against Bristol Rovers.

Butcher is still on the hunt for two more players to take his numbers up to 19 going into the new SPL season, which kicks off a week on Saturday with ICT heading to Motherwell on the opening day.

The Caley Jags complete their pre-season tour on Saturday when they face League Two hosts Aldershot Town.
