Unreliable bus service causes problems
People in Inverness and the wider Highlands have reported having to pay for taxis to get to work as they simply cannot rely on public transport.
“I also live in Hilton area and cannot afford a car. If I do not have a bike than cannot get to work (work for Highland Council...or just stay at home) because no buses in the busiest hours and cannot get home after work for another two hours, no buses.” – George, Inverness
Moves under way to replace outdated academy building
The first planning move towards the phased demolition and replacement of the ageing Charleston Academy community campus in Inverness has been made.
“So the venerable institution that is Charleston Academy (aged 44) is to be demolished. Excuse my wry smile as I reminisce over my old primary school (Inverness Central). Over 200 years of age and still going strong. This says much for the quality of those Victorian builders – and not so much for those of recent years.” – Jim Shanks, Denia
Many thanks from cyclist for anonymous kind deed
I would like to thank the person/people who very kindly hung my battered old red cycle panier on a branch by the Mill Burn on Monday this week.
It obviously fell off as I was making my way round the rather bumpy path at the back of Milton Crescent.
I have safely retrieved the much loved and constantly used panier (with pump still inside), so thank you very much for your kind deed.
