Yoga Stands for Peace fundraising event comes to Inverness Leisure at the weekend as part of Highland Weekend of Action for Ukraine

A FUNDRAISING yoga event will be held in Inverness this weekend to show support for people in Ukraine.

With yoga sessions organised throughout Scotland and beyond, the Yoga Stands for Peace initiative will take part to the Highland Weekend of Action for Ukraine with a series of classes at Inverness Leisure on Sunday, April 3.

Four different yoga classes will be held during the afternoon from 2pm to 6pm, with teachers Nicki Walsh, Christie Wood, Hazel Marr and Sandra Cook leading the sessions.

Ms Cook, who is an inspirational teacher and was recently appointed regional officer of The British Wheel of Yoga for Scotland, had the idea for the event.

“It is wonderful to see the yoga community coming together in such a generous and collaborative way for this worthy cause, " she said.

"Heartfelt thanks to all the teachers who have donated their time, and to High Life Highland,The Highland Council and other partners for the Highland Weekend of Action for Ukraine.

She added: “Yoga stands for Peace is growing more every day. We have already raised more than £7000, and the donations just keep coming!

"Yoga is a great way to get fit and feel good. Please get involved in any way you can."
