Repair work on an Inverness building hit by a car could take another month.

The works at the property in Pumpgate Street/Grant Street were originally expected to last until mid-November 2022 but delays meant the contract was then due for completion this month. It has now changed to next month.

Scaffolding was put in place by Highland Council to stop the building collapsing.

The council arranged for Laing Traditional Masonry Group to start work on site in June last year with an aim to keep any disruption to the local community to a minimum.

A council spokeswoman said: “Remedial works to Pumpgate Street are ongoing and now expected to be complete at the end of April 2023. We thank the local community for their continued understanding and patience.”
