Woman (26) airlifted in Beinn Eighe rescue

A woman was airlifted to hospital after getting injured on a Wester Ross mountain this week.

Torridon Mountain Rescue Team were among those who went to the 26-year-old's aid on Beinn Eighe on Monday.

An Inverness-based coastguard search and rescue helicopter took her to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Her condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.45pm on Monday, we were called to a report of a person injured on Beinn Eighe, Wester Ross.

"A 26-year-old woman was taken by helicopter to Raigmore Hospital for treatment."

Two of Beinn Eighe's summits – Ruadh-stac Mòr and Spidean Coire nan Clach – are classified as Munros, mountains over 3000 feet.
