Retained firefighters in Foyers have thanked people for rallying round to help combat the Daviot wildfire.

Crew at Foyers Community Fire Station posted on social media: "Foyers Community Fire Station would like to thank local contractors, farmers, gamekeepers and shepherds who aided SFRS [Scottish Fire and Rescue Service] at the wildfire [at] Daviot.

"Without the support in equipment, knowledge and manpower from these land-based sectors, the residents of Daviot East may of awaken to a different outcome this morning.

"We are sure that Strathnairn will be proud to have these people in their community who will give their time and equipment in a time of need, for free, to help residents in their community.

"Stay safe and think before you light!"
