With many of us going the extra mile this year in decorating our homes, we recently asked our readers to send us a picture of their Christmas tree.

We also promised to pick our favourite and make a £250 donation to a local charity of the winner's choice.

Many of you sent us pictures of your beautiful Christmas trees and the team have enjoyed looking through them all.

We picked our favourite, pictured above, belonging to Shelley Gill from Inverness.

We spoke to Shelley to let her know she was the winner.

She said, "This is amazing!!"

"I would like my donation to go to the Highland Hospice."

"I volunteered there before Covid-19 with my dog Roxy who is a therapy dog. It was my way of giving something back to The Highland Hospice as they were what gave us strength and helped us cope in the final days of my grans life Jan Ryan, and also her late husband Paddy Ryan's life. Both passed with cancer. "

"I am absolutely delighted that they will benefit from this generous donation as I am sure like all charities they have suffered financially this year."

Thanks again to everyone who sent in their Christmas tree pictures.

Below are just some of the pictures we received.
