An exciting opportunity is taking place next week, as business organisations are joining together to provide an Entrepreneurial Masterclass in Inverness.

Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, SkyeConnect and Inverness Chamber of Commerce are combining together to allow people to listen and interact with local entrepreneurs on February Wednesday 8 at Eden Court. Guests will be presented with the unique chance to be stimulated, inspired and expand their network all in one space.

The event will feature a one-hour keynote speech by serial entrepreneur, Angus MacDonald around ‘Building a Valuable Company’, followed by a chaired panel discussion with leading local business people. Attendees will learn about how they identified their business opportunities, the challenges faced and how they scaled up their company.

This evening event series is aimed at those who are already running businesses and wish to build these to the next level, intrapreneurs within companies with a remit to stimulate real growth, and those actively seeking the opportunity to start their own significant business venture.

While based in the Highlands, Angus MacDonald built businesses with a value of £150m, employing several hundred people in financial publishing, online education, recycling and renewables. He was a UK entrepreneur of the year in 2017 and has an OBE for services to the Highlands. He owns the Highland Cinema and Highland Bookshop in Fort William and is a Highland councillor.

The panel speakers include: Alasdair Ferguson (Ferguson Transport & Shipping); Freda Newton (Jacobite Cruises); Stewart Graham (GaelForce); and Eunice McAdam (Saffery Champness).

The event will run from 4.30pm – 7.30pm. Tickets cost £25 (plus venue booking fees) and can only be purchased directly from the venue.
