A PAIR of Scottish wildcat kittens have been photographed for the first time exploring their surroundings at the Aigas Field Centre in Beauly.

The curious twosome were born on May 4 but have only now been revealed to the world.

Their birth is great news for the centre’s wildcat breeding programme. Staff naturalist Ben Jones said: “We are delighted to see all the hard work put in by all our team of rangers rewarded with two new little faces.

“This is the first litter for their mother Glynis who was quite a relaxed female up to the point she became a mother. However, since giving birth, she has become very protective of both kittens and guards the entrance to their enclosure.”
