THE wife of a Highland man posted missing more than 10 months ago has offered words of comfort to the family of Nicola Bulley.

Finn Creaney (33), from the Tain area of Easter Ross, was posted missing after failing to turn up from a hike in Sutherland in March last year.

Nicola Bulley (45), disappeared while walking her dog after dropping her kids off at school on January 27. She was last seen walking her dog by the river in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire.

Finn's family remain equally baffled by the disappearance of the father-of-one who was a skilled bushcraft expert and survivalist well used to hiking.

Finn was reported missing after failing to return from a solo hike at Loch Naver last March. His father Mark has posted regular updates of ongoing searches launched to try and find a trace of his son and urged supporters to remain positive, thanking them for their good wishes.

Referring to the Nicola Bulley case, Finn's wife Lucy told a national newspaper: "You have to believe you will find the person you’ve lost”.

In his last message, Mr Creaney told her “I love you lots and I’m really proud of you”.

When he failed to return, Mrs Creaney reported him missing, triggering a large search and rescue response.

In The Telegraph, Mrs Creaney wrote that she was still hopeful that the family will “bring him home”, as the first anniversary of his disappearance looms.

Mrs Creaney wrote: “As the family of missing mother Nicola Bulley will know, the uncertainty is torture, it is pain. You don’t know how it will end, but you have to believe you will find the person you’ve lost. People don’t just vanish off the face of the earth.”

She believes her husband had no reason to disappear of his own will and has said on a number of occasions describing he was the happiest he has ever been when he disappeared.

She added: “What I’d say to Nicola’s family is keep the faith.

“You can’t control the situation, that’s one of the hardest things in a missing person case, but you can believe in the person you love and try not to give in to despair.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 citing 0912 of March 28 or message the Search for Finn Creaney Facebook page.
