SEVERE weather will impact rail services between Kyle of Lochalsh and Inverness, ScotRail has warned.

The rail operator has advised passengers that recent rough weather has necessitated the cancellation of some Monday morning services between the Highland capital and Lochalsh.

"Due to severe weather, services on our Oban/Mallaig & Kyle of Lochalsh routes will be disrupted tomorrow morning [Monday]," said a spokesman.

"The response team will work through the night ensuring the track is safe for us to operate. To allow our team time to carry this out the following alterations apply:

"The 06:11 Kyle Of Lochalsh to Inverness due 08:50 will be cancelled.

"Our 08:55 Inverness to Kyle Of Lochalsh service will terminate at Dingwall.

"The 05:21 Oban to Queen Street service is cancelled.

"Our 05:20 Queen Street to Oban service will terminate at Crianlarich.

"Our 06:03 Mallaig to Queen Street service will terminate at Fort William.

"Please visit http://JourneyCheck.com/Scotrail for the latest updates on these routes which we will keep updated. Bus replacements have been requested and confirmed bus times can be viewed via the link."
