A Dores resident has made a plea for cyclists and dog walkers to stay away – at least until coronavirus-related restrictions change.

The man, who wished to be anonymous, was concerned about the risk of visitors spreading the bug.

"I am asking all the cyclists and dog walkers who flood out to Dores from Inverness and further afield to obey the law and stay at home and exercise in your own locality," he said.

"Normally you would be very welcome but at this time of crisis we don't want to see you.

"The paths and roads around the village are becoming overrun and with that comes things like increased litter, dog excrement on our paths and most importantly a higher risk of infection.

"There are many vulnerable people in the village. Please obey the law and stay in your own district."
