WATER supply to around 100 homes in Fort Augustus was disrupted by a burst water main last night.

Some homes suffered a total loss of water, others had low water pressure and water was discoloured.

Scottish Water sent several engineers to the Loch Ness-side village attempting to locate the burst water main.

Bottled water was delivered to the area.

"When supplies are fully restored customers may also experience some discolouration to their supply, this discolouration is harmless and will gradually disappear as the system returns to normal," said a Scottish Water spokesman.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and co-operation."

Anyone who needs further information or assistance should call Scottish Water on: 0800 7310840.
