INVERNESS and Loch Ness feature in a short video which has been posted online featuring a Berlin Zumba star.

Ben Hastings (20), of Inverness, was asked to shoot the film of Ayhan Sulu who had travelled to the Highlands from the German capital.

The video also features Katy Dery, who runs her own Zumba company based in the Highlands, and she hoped it would promote her classes.

Mr Hastings said: “When filming her class at the Mercure, Ayhan asked if I would be interested in filming a video for his YouTube channel. I saw this as a great opportunity and started location scouting to tailor his needs.”

As well as Loch Ness, they also used Inverness Castle and North Kessock with Kessock Bridge behind as locations.

“It was a one-day shoot over three locations. The biggest challenge about the video was the editing because Ayhan and Katy performed their routine while wearing AirPods – this meant that the raw footage had no audio for me to sync with their music.

“We had a great time together in the making of the video and I hope to work with them again in the future.”

Mr Hastings, of BRH Videos, is just starting out in his film-making career and found it to be a useful experience.

He said: “Making videos is my passion and I have been filming for as long as I can remember.”

Currently he works full-time at Eden Court in Inverness and has so far worked with local DJs by promoting their club nights and showing off the music scene in Inverness.

He added: “I would hope to shoot some wedding videos in the future and I would like to delve deeper down the music path also.”
