TFX tearing up the dance floor

PUPILS from an Inverness performance company showed off their talent at this year’s Strictly Inverness final.

TFX Performing Arts was involved in the event, with 43 students, some as young as nine years old, taking part in the event’s launch night.

The performing arts company was then also on stage for the following nights too, delighting audiences and the celebrity judges with three routines, and working with event host Brian Elrick.

Choreographer and artistic director at TFX, Claire Darcy, said after the final on Saturday: “It feels fantastic! This was probably one of the best finals we’ve ever had.

“For TFX to do all three performances tonight was wonderful.

“Aljaz and Janette said they loved it, which was really nice feedback from them!”

The group started preparing a few weeks ago but had only two days to work with Mr Elrick on their routines for the night.

Ms Darcy added: “This is a great opportunity for them. There are actually only a few of the performance company that have done it before, and they just loved it.

“It’s an experience they have never had before – performing in front of around 600 people – and tonight with dancing idols like Janette and Aljaz watching, they loved it.

“They have all had exams and school on top this, so they have done a wonderful job at such a young age!”
