Residents at an Inverness care home have joined others across Scotland to record their own version of Neil Diamond’s classic song, Sweet Caroline.

Kingsmills Care Home and other homes in the Renaissance Care Group across Scotland put the video together to launch their Music Festival Month.

A spokeswoman for Renaissance Care Group said the month-long initiative will encourage residents and staff to use song and dance to improve their health and wellbeing.

"The aged residents will be getting their festive gear on and boogying on down to silent discos, live performances and some golden oldies in their homes which will be turned into the ultimate festival experience," she said.

The 60-bed Kingsmills Care Home received a 'very good' rating in a recent care inspection report.

Neil Diamond released Sweet Caroline in the UK in 1971 when it reached number eight in the charts, selling more than 1.2 million copies.

It has since become a wedding disco staple and an unlikely sports anthem, adopted by fans of the England football team and the Boston Red Sox.

BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show listeners also voted it as the song the nation should sing to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
